Animal group names… a lesson in naming!

We’ve all heard of a litter of puppies, or a pride of lions, but have you heard of a troop of apes?  Keep scrolling and find out some of the more unknown, and often funny, animal group names.


A group of alligators is called a congregation.


A group of ants is called an army, colony, nest, or swarm.


A group of barracuda is called a battery.


Ok now this one is cool, a group of butterflies is called a flutter.


A group of coyotes is called a band.


This one may be hard to believe, but a group of geese is called a gaggle!


Giraffes are tall, like a tower, and a group of giraffes is called a… tower!

Whoever decided to call a group of flamingoes a flamboyance deserves an award, what a great name!


I hope I never run into a cluster of spiders! Isn’t the Cobalt Blue Tarantula from Thailand awesome!
